About Me

I am a Nashville native who was educated and clinically trained in Boston. I hold a Doctorate in Social Work, a Master of Social Work, and a Master’s degree in Conflict Management, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with more than 26 years of experience in the field.

I work with adolescents and adults in individual psychotherapy. As a trained narrative therapist, I am particularly interested in the stories we tell about ourselves and how those stories shape our relationships, choices, and sense of self. My work often focuses on identifying patterns and interpersonal styles, building self-esteem, exploring shame, and helping clients better understand the connection between thoughts, behaviors, emotions, and outcomes.

Psychoeducation is also an important part of my practice. I help clients understand neural pathways, the mind-body connection, and the ways our thoughts and interpretations can sometimes be experienced as facts. My clinical training includes trauma-focused approaches, CBT, ACT, Motivational Interviewing, and DBT, along with other evidence-informed modalities that I integrate according to each client’s individual needs.

In addition to my clinical practice, I am an Associate Professor at Grand Canyon University in the MSW program and am developing a DSW program. I also teach adjunctively at Walden MSW and Lipscomb University in Conflict Management. I provide clinical and macro social work supervision and offer clinical and corporate training in the community. My background in conflict management and social work board membership informs my work with individuals, professionals, and organizations.

If you are considering therapy or professional supervision, please feel free to reach out to see if we might be a good fit.
